Mission Statement
It is the mission of Autism Directory Service to assist families living with Autism Spectrum Disorders in the Hudson Valley by:
- Educating the public about the neurological disability known as Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Supporting educational programs for individuals with ASD
- Sponsoring educational conferences
- Providing resources for training of teaching staffs and therapists
- Supporting social and recreational programs for individuals on the spectrum
- Providing local school districts with supplies for those affected by ASD
- Providing parents & caregivers with grants to defray the costs associated with: workshops/conferences/social skills groups/camps/recreational activities/academic programs and more …
We achieve these goals through the granting of awards to INDIVIDUALS such as:
- Individuals on the spectrum
- Professionals (for continuing education and development)
We achieve these goals through the granting of awards to ORGANIZATIONS such as:
- Supplies for Rockland ARC’s Prime Time for Kids School
- Social Skills Baseball Clinics at Frozen Ropes
- Social skills groups and Social Skills Counseling Groups
- Teachers and Parents for workshops and trainings
- Children to defray the prohibitively high costs of a variety of activities including, but not limited to, Swimming, horseback riding, karate lessons, music therapy and social group participation
- Challenger Sports Leagues
- Center for Spectrum Disorders - after-school recreational programs
- The Anderson School recreational programs
- Easter Seals educational programs
- Dutchess County BOCES PEACCE Program
